The Joint Conciliation Board of the Austrian Banking Industry or Bank Mediation Austria offers a point of contact for conflicts in banking transactions with an Austrian credit institution (excluding foreign currency loans) if no agreement can be reached with the credit institution.
These may include savings or deposit transactions, domestic or cross-border transfers, payment account transactions, building society or loan agreements, custody account, investment, or securities transactions. Furthermore, the opening, changing, or closing of accounts may be relevant to the Ombudsman, as may foreign exchange and currency transactions, securities issuance transactions, or real estate fund transactions.
