In difficult life situations, residents of Vienna can turn to the Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW). As an organization of the City of Vienna, the FSW arranges, plans, and promotes social services. These range from topics such as care and support, assistance for people with disabilities and the homeless, to basic care for refugees and support for people with debt problems. The FSW also offers a telephone health advice service on 1450.
Problems relating to services funded by the FSW can be reported to the FSW Ombudsman's Office if the responsible institution or the responsible counseling center did not find a satisfactory solution.
