Passengers can contact the following in the event of disagreements, unresolved questions, or conflicts relating to security checks at Vienna Airport: Ombudsman's Office of Vienna International Airport Security Services . The “Security Control Ombudsman's Office” has been an independent and autonomous organizational unit since 2013. 

Examples of issues that would be relevant for the Security Control Ombudsman are:

  • Work with passengers to find constructive solutions in the event of disagreements.

  • As part of voluntary goodwill gestures—without acknowledging any legal obligation—offer appropriate compensation for damage incurred during security checks, even beyond the legal requirements.

  • Forward inquiries relating to security checks to the relevant authorities, particularly in the following areas:

    • Security check procedure in special cases, e.g., for medical implants such as pacemakers.

    • Assessment and classification of items in hand luggage or checked baggage with regard to their admissibility.

    • Classification of objects or substances in connection with IATA dangerous goods regulations.
