MUHC – Office of the Ombudsman

The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Office of the Ombudsman deals with complaints regarding issues with the MUHC and its‘ system.

You can contact the MUHC Ombudsman to receive support in the following matters:

  • ​give objective assessments of difficult situations  
  • ​make recommendations to improve the quality of care and services when warranted, reasonable and feasible
  • ​help patients and their representatives:  
    • ​obtain information
    • ​communicate with care team members
    • ​formulate a complaint
  • ​provide consultations on the rights and obligations of healthcare providers, patients and families
  • ​intervene when there are concerns that the rights of a person or a group are not being respected (including reports of mistreatment)
